SANTA CLARA, CALIF. (PRWEB) APRIL 18, 2019
Polysense Technologies Inc., (Polysense) an innovation leader in LPWAN IoT solutions for wireless and fiber sensing, today announced the commercial availability of WxS 9810. The product also supports GSM/GPRS as a wireless uplink connectivity option, enabling users to select the best available wireless coverage in their areas.
With the support of 3GPP NB-IoT, WxS 9810 provides cellular operators with a proven set of sensors for their NB-IoT networks, enabling an array of IoT use cases such as smart city, structural health monitoring (SHM), machine condition monitoring for preventive and predicative maintenance (MPP), environmental monitoring, senor care, and smart retail.
“Following the successful launch and subsequent deployment of WxS 8800/8700 and WxS 7800, we have received wide interest from cellular operators for our sensor portfolio and edge computing capability,” said Alex Wu, President of Polysense. “Now by supporting 3GPP NB-IoT LPWA connectivity, we offer the industry’s most comprehensive wireless uplink options for our customers – licensed spectrum for cellular operators, ISM spectrum for competitive service providers, municipalities and businesses”
To further facilitate the smooth deployment, WxS 9810 supports identical sensor portfolio as WxS 8800/8700 and WxS 7800, over 60 types of sensing parameters, as companion and complementary to LoRa based WxS 8800/8700 and Wi-Fi based WxS 7800.

“We have seen many end customers who simply want a plug-play IoT sensor for their use case just as a smart phone,” further commented Will H. Yu, director of IoT solution and customer support at Polysense. “With the purchase of a SIM card and a monthly or annual IoT service plan from a cellular operator of choice, they are watching their sensing and monitoring data streaming in – and can now focus on their business processes with IoT enabled.”
Now with WxS 9810, Polysense is able to offer its customers the most flexibility for deployment, capable of connecting to LoRaWAN, WI-FI, or NB-IoT/LTE Cat M1 networks, depending on the coverage need, bandwidth requirement, and battery usage of the use cases.
Availability
WxS 9810, with NB-IoT support, is immediately available for trial and ordering. WxS 9811, with GSM/GPRS support, is scheduled in Q3’2019. Contact Polysense for further information: kyang(at)polysense.net
